BAKING IT BIG..

BAKE Off fans were in uproar when Liam Charles went home – but his career could be a real showstopper after signing with a “super agent”.

Liam, 20, has been snapped up by Vivienne Clore, who runs a London agency that represents dozens of actors, writers, stand-ups and presenters.

Among them are Bake Off co-host Sandi Toksvig and Jo Brand, who presents spin-off show An Extra Slice.

A TV source said: “Vivienne is one of the best in the business and has close links to Bake Off through Sandi and Jo.

“She is highly rated, not least as she secures great deals for her talent and carefully manages long, highly successful careers. Personality-wise, Liam was the standout star and the sky’s the limit.”

Insiders say he could be in line for money-spinning TV presenting deals, as well as cookery books.

However, he would have to juggle any lucrative work with his studies, as he is a drama student in London. A source added: “It’s early days but very exciting.”

He endeared himself to viewers with Sophie Faldo is winner of show his personality and skills. Fans were outraged after he was eliminated in the quarter finals, which left Sandi in tears.

Even as Sophie Faldo won The Great British Bake Off on Tuesday night, there was many saying Liam should have been in the finale.

He himself admitted after getting the boot that he could see himself on TV.

Liam joked on screen: “I’m coming for Paul Hollywood’s job in 10 years’ time.”

Meanwhile, the final episode of Bake Off helped Channel 4 achieve its biggest overnight performance in five years, despite judge Prue Leith’s spoiler clanger.

According to overnight ratings, 7.7million viewers tuned in to watch, with a peak of 8.9million.

In comparison, the Paralympic Games Opening Ceremony in 2012 was viewed by an average of 8.3million.

It is expected the finale’s numbers will grow when consolidated taken into account.

Bake Off ’s triumph came despite Prue revealing Sophie was the winner on social media hours before the broadcast.

She posted: “No one told me judging a GBBO final would be so emotional. I wanted them all to win. Bravo Sophie.”

The tweet was removed but by then it had been seen by some fans.

She explained: “I’m in Bhutan. The time difference is massive. I thought that they got it six hours ago,” she said.

She later apologised and said she was “mortified” by the error.

C4 chief executive Alex Mahon said: “It’s testament to the phenomenal appeal of Bake Off that almost nine million people watched Sophie triumph.”

The 2016 Bake Off finale on BBC1 was seen by an average of 14million viewers. figures are
