Sword killer due in court over ‘on the run’ charges

- BY SHAUNA CORR

Stephen Henry POLICE have charged a murderer who walked out of a court with being unlawfully at large while under sentence.

Stephen Henry is also accused of possession of a Class C controlled drug.

The 41-year-old was jailed for the murder of dad-of-two John Cooke with a Samurai-style sword in a house in Lisburn in May 2004.

He was back behind bars on Friday night after going on the run while out on day release.

He was returned to Magilligan Prison following his arrest and is due to appear at Lisburn Magistrates Court today.

It is understood Henry was apprehended somewhere between Waringstown and Banbridge after appearing before a Dublin court where he was fined €75 for a public order offence that does not carry a jail sentence.

A European Arrest Warrant had not been issued and he was released from custody.

A PSNI spokesman said: “Police have charged a 41-year-old man with being unlawfully at large while and possessing a Class C controlled drug.

“He is due to appear at Lisburn Magistrates Court on Monday, November 6.

“As is normal procedure, all charges will be reviewed by the PPS.” SHE manages to look stunning in most outfits – but this must be one of the less practical items in Kim Kardashian’s wardrobe.

The reality TV star showed some blonde ambition when she stepped out in LA in a buttonless jacket with nothing on underneath.

But it must have been difficult to move around in, which might be why she stood awkwardly with her hands by her side as she posed for pics.
