- BY HELEN WHITEHOUSE

A PAYMENT company yesterday announced the creation of 200 new jobs.

The roles at Yapstone’s Drogheda headquarters will be created as part of a €41million investment by the firm, which is being supported by IDA Ireland.

Yapstone offers online and mobile payments products to a range of companies worldwide.

It established its international offices in Drogheda, Co Louth, in 2012, where it currently employs 125 people.

IDA Ireland chief Martin Shanahan described the move as a “significant expansion”.

Tanaiste and Enterprise Minister Frances Fitzgerald said the announcement would be “a great boost for the town”.

She added it tallied with the Government’s desire to drive “job creation in locations which are away from the bigger cities”.

Meanwhile, 50 new jobs were announced yesterday at Zevas Communications.

The outsourced sales services are recruiting for telesales roles, as a result of winning two new contracts with international digital technology companies.

The vacancies will be filled immediately with the majority of positions based in Cork.

Most positions are English speaking, however, native Dutch and German speakers will also be recruited.

Chief John O’sullivan said: “These new contracts further reaffirm Cork’s position as an international hub for digital innovation and ambition, as well as for superb and proactive customer service offerings.”
