Mark Wahlberg in Dublin and, inset, Conor Mcgregor CONOR Mcgregor could become a big movie star, claims Mark Wahlberg.
The actor and producer said he has high hopes for the MMA champ outside the ring.
And he revealed he was trying to find him a film role.
The Daddy’s Home 2 star told the Irish Mirror: “We were trying to cast him before we were trying to fight him.
“But you know what, he’s got a big career ahead of him outside of the octagon and the ring so it’ll be interesting to see what he does. I’m a big fan.”
Wahlberg is a UFC supporter and backed Mcgregor to beat Floyd Mayweather, saying: “I’ve always been wanting to see that kind of greatness and I know Conor’s going to bring it and he’s not going to be scared to get hit.”
On Wednesday the 46-yearold told how he was staying away from the booze while in Ireland promoting his new film.
He said: “I’m training right now for a new Pete Berg movie and it’s hard being in Ireland not being able to have a drink or two. I’m on my best behaviour.”
The avid golfer took time out of his schedule to hit the K Club and said he’d love to return to Ireland for a golfing holiday with his boys.
Wahlberg added: “You think about Old Head in Kinsale, there are some of the greatest golf courses in the world here.
“For me the greatest thing would be to come here and just go on a guys’ golf trip and take my sons and come for two weeks and travel all around and play all the courses.
“But I don’t know will let me do that.” if my wife
