Never give up on your sporting dream...

Usain Bolt passes the baton to new generation of talented youngsters

The Usain Bolt Foundation benefits youngsters through sporting provision, improving community structures, and funding talented Jamaicans to excel in their chosen disciplines.

Its superstar founder said: “We’ve really done a lot for the schools all around. I think it’s really made a big impact and we’re going to continue doing it until I can’t anymore.

“We can see the benefits and it helps the kids, for me, it’s a great movement.”

When he is not helping others in their sporting endeavours, Bolt admits he loves nothing more than kicking back with a pint of Guinness and some hot chicken wings.

At his music and sports bar, Usain Bolt’s Tracks and Records, in Kingston, Jamaica, he snubs posh cocktails on the menu for a pint of the black stuff – and he is still pretty chilled over his nutrition.

He revealed: “Yeah, I just normally drink Guinness. I don’t really have a special cocktail drink, so it’s Guinness.

“Perfect with pork, any pork. It doesn’t have to be made by anyone special, just any pork. Any pork dish is fine with me.

“My second world 100-metre record at the 2008 Olympics was fuelled by Mcdonald’s chicken nuggets but these days my guilty food secret is mostly KFC and hot wings.

“I’ve always loved food and competition. I raced my friend Ricardo Gedes when we were 12 to win a bet over a free lunch. To be fair, the prize was a lunchbox which was rice and a piece of chicken.

“You don’t mess about with that and I’ve always been very competitive. I go slow in everything else I do really. I just run fast. That’s pretty much it though.”

Despite his huge success, Bolt does not wear his medals, except for photoshoots, to mark his career.

Now he is looking to find new ventures for the when his active sporting life comes to an end.

He said: “I don’t wear my medals. I just don’t. At some point I’ve got to stop running I don’t know exactly what I’ll do. People always say I should write a book and I think I will but I know I won’t. But we have the bar. We just wanted to do different ventures so why not a bar?”

For now Bolt is spending most of his downtime with comedian

Kevin Hart.

The pair are involved in the #Gameon series for Pokerstars and they have been having a lot of fun promoting it – even facing each other in a bath of ice to see who would

last the longest. The sprinter added: “It’s always good hanging out with Kevin and hopefully we get to do more work together. I’m a fan.

“It’s good to be here on the shoot working with him. Although he’s intimidating... no, nah, nah, he’s cool man. He’s a hard-working, dedicated person.

“With the poker, I’m not that good but there’s always room for improvement. “I’m guess I’m just a hardworking, dedicated person. I just try to do my best to live up to the hype.

“I’d say my dedication and how I work, and the fact I never give up no matter what, is what gets me through.”

I’ve also had role models, so the fact I can actually be a role model is ridiculous USAIN BOLT
