Tonight Darius Syrossian makes a return to the capital with an all night long show at Wah Wah Club in South William Street. Syrossian has long been established as one of the finest in-house and techno DJS, and has been a firm favourite with Dublin clubbers over the years.
Fresh from another huge season with Do Not Sleep in Ibiza, he plays a very special open til close set in the intimate setting of Wah Wah Club basement (South William Bar) as Strictly Deep team up with all round good guys Abstract.should be rammed so get down early – doors are 11pm and it’s only €10.
No let up from the Division crew Saturdays at PYG who tomorrow night bring you Micheal Mayer for another show (like Syrossian) that’s an all night long affair, just him start to finish.
Last February, Mayer treated PYG to one of the best nights of music the venue has ever had. So fittingly they have asked him this time for a five hour set.
Mayer is one of the most influential figures around as boss and co-founder of Cologne’s seminal Kompakt label (celebrating 20 years this year).
Always distinctive and yet wildly multifaceted Kompakt label. As a DJ he is known for weaving together long and story telling sets of house and techno from across the ages, he is also a super producer and remixer with an enviable and often referenced back catalogue.
An integral part in the way that techno has developed in recent years, it’s safe to say he loves being challenged and, regardless of the pressure, never puts less than 100% of his heart and soul into everything he does. Doors at 10pm and this one is also a tenner.
Looking ahead a little to next Thursday (Friday and Saturday too) my man Low Steppa comes back over as part of the Freakin Ireland tour, which hits the Button Factory on Thursday along with DJ Ides and House of Virus.
Friday next week it hits Leisureland in Galway with Josh Coakley joining the trio and on to Cypress Ave in Cork on Saturday week for the final date of the three day tour.
