ROSE RAGE ... BUT NO POCH ROW

- BY JOHN CROSS

DANNY ROSE has admitted he was “fuming and angry” at being dropped – but denied he had another bust-up with Mauricio Pochettino.

Spurs full-back Rose trained on his own after being left out of the squad for Saturday’s north London derby at Arsenal, raising further doubts about his future.

Manchester United want the England defender (above), who has already admitted his frustrations over his contract at Spurs and said he wants a move back up north, which caused a fall-out with Pochettino in the summer.

Rose made his return to the starting line-up as Tottenham clinched victory at Borussia Dortmund, but maintained there is no problem this time other than him being upset at being left out.

He said: “My reaction was that I was fuming and angry. But also understanding at the same time. There’s been no bust-up, no argument, no falling out.

“The manager just explained that he thought it’d be better for me to do a hard session on Saturday, which I did.

“And if I’d been at the Emirates or not, everybody’s losing sight that I couldn’t have stopped the referee or linesman from making bad decisions that led to us conceding. Me and the manager have not fallen out, we’ve not had an argument.

“I was angry about not being involved in the squad, but I understand and respect his views.”

Pochettino left Rose out last weekend after insisting he needs to improve his fitness levels following a 10-month injury lay-off.

But Rose claimed that he is fit and is determined to help Tottenham win some silverware rather than leave in January.

Rose added: “Whatever fitness I have, I still feel that

I’m one of the best in the league, I don’t care how fit I am, I believe in my ability.

“At Tottenham, you have to have an exceptional level of fitness.

“I’m not there yet, because I’ve been out for a long time. I’m still catching up. As I said, I respect the manager and his coaching staff’s views. I wasn’t happy, but it’s gone now, we all

have to move on.”
