Going up... The secret is nowt

Models often complain that people think their jobs are just walking up and down, when actually there’s much more to it than that. Possibly not doing much for the cause, the girls who walked in this week’s Victoria’s Secret show were asked what they think about while on the catwalk. All their answers were variations of this, from Elsa Hosk: “I’m not thinking! I’m just focusing on getting to the end without falling, and then going back.”

Rover and out

Yes, there are bigger issues but, hooray, the problem of pet loneliness has been solved. You can now install connectivity gadgets which mean your – let’s be honest – dog can hear your voice and be fed a treat.

There’s also a robot interactive companion, which will play games with it... but it’s probably so expensive the only people who’ll be able to afford to buy it will be those who work so much they need one.

Oh.

Going down... Eye candy

Latest festive make-up trend: Candycane eyes. Terrible idea for two reasons – firstly, a fiddly design you need a super steady hand for, during the booziest season of the year? Nope. And, secondly, because however well it’s doing on Instagram and Pinterest, it’s still blatantly the make-up equivalent of a novelty jumper.

Looney tunes

A new study from New York University has discovered that Justin Bieber’s song What Do You Mean? is very popular with people who score high on a psychopathy scale. It’s an unusual Christmas marketing campaign, but it’s imaginative at least.
