KODALINE singer Steve Garrigan has hailed girlfriend Diana Bunici for opening up about being sexually assaulted.

Weighing in on the sexual harassment controversy, the former RTE kids presenter told how she was inappropriately touched on a Dublin bus.

Her boyfriend of three years, Steve told the Irish Mirror: “It’s a fairly heavy thing to talk about. It’s kind of name and shame the people who do that so I was pretty proud of her.”

With bandmates Vinny and Jason recently tying the knot with their long-term partners the Dublin star would not be pressed on whether he was planning to pop the question.

The 29-year-old said: “Ah no, I think everybody is different when they’re ready for things like that, they’ll be ready.” The chart-topping band release their third studio album early next year and told how working with Snow Patrol guitarist Johnny Mcdaid was a great coup.

Kodaline drummer Vincent May said: “We’re hoping to have the first single out early next year.

“Johnny Mcdaid has been a huge part of the new album and worked with lots of different producers and big artists.”

The guys also revealed they were partying with the

Snow Patrol man’s fiancee Friends star Courteney Cox last week.

Steve added: “Johnny was getting an award at the Irish Post Awards so we just had a big old hooley in London.”

Kodaline guitarist Mark Prendergast said: “We’re huge fans of Friends and the first time we sat down with Johnny and started talking music was in Courteney’s house in LA.

“She’s so down to earth, so nice, she’s awesome.”

The band will ring in the New Year headlining the 3Countdown Concert at Custom House Quay in Dublin. Drummer Vinny revealed: “We’ve got some special guests joining us on stage at midnight.”
