Corrie star Bruno: I did grope 2 women
SACKED Coronation Street star Bruno Langley yesterday admitted drunkenly groping two women.
The shamed actor, who played Todd Grimshaw in the ITV soap for more than a decade, wept in the dock.
He accepted his behaviour was “disgraceful” when he grabbed his victims’ crotches at a nightclub.
Langley, 34, pleaded guilty to two counts of sexual assault. He will serve a 12-month community order and was ordered to register as a sex offender.
Passing sentence, District Judge Mark Hadfield told him: “Your conduct was quite disgraceful and degrading.
“I know nothing of showbusiness but I suspect it may be very difficult for you to gain employ- ment in future.”
Prosecutor Karen Saffman said Langley was “clearly intoxicated” when he groped the women over their clothes at Band on the
Wall in Manchester.
The first victim said:
“He properly grabbed me. It was a rough grab.” She was then approached by the second woman in the toilets. That victim said Langley fondled her “boobs and bum” that industry in the before later telling police he also grabbed her private parts. Simon Hancock, in mitigation, told Manchester magistrates court that Langley, 34, had an alcohol problem.
After the case, the actor, of Altrincham, said: “I sincerely apologise to the people affected by my disgraceful behaviour. I have no memory of what happened because of excessive alcohol consumption and it was for this reason I behaved out of character.”
The dad of one was axed from Corrie after the incident but will remain on screens until Christmas Eve.
A source said: “He finished filming when this first came to light but scenes that had been filmed will remain.”
