Lawyer defends mcgregor’s tracksuit for court appearance
CONOR Mcgregor’s solicitor yesterday defended his decision to wear a €175 tracksuit to court.
Graham Kenny also insisted an Instagram post saying “#relaxjudge” meant no disrespect.
The lawyers said of his client who was fined €400 for speeding: “I don’t think anybody advises Conor on his clothing.
“He considers himself quite a stylish, dapper individual and that’s what he thought was appropriate for the day. I mean he is, like I said, a showman.”
He denied the UFC champ wore the dark green outfit as “backing” for the Adidas brand.
Mr Kenny said: “I’m not saying that but he’s certainly conscious of what he wears.
“There’d be very little I’d be afraid to say to Conor. I trust his own fashion sense. I generally leave my clients to decide how they wish to dress.”
Mr Kenny told RTE’S Liveline Mcgregor hadn’t expected to be called to court in Blanchardstown on Thursday and he is not “aware” whether he received penalty points.
The lawyer said: “We initially thought he wouldn’t be expected at court so he made an exception to attend and that’s what he had on him and that’s what he felt appropriate.
“The judge doesn’t normally comment on people’s attire when they’re in the box.
“He was very respectful to the judge. He set out his evidence and was happy to pay the fine.” The Dublin-based solicitor also defended Mcgregor’s #relaxjudge post on Instagram .
