Kebano 25 ROMAINE SAWYERS wants Brentford to use local rivalries to drive them to the play-offs.

The Bees put aside their capitulation in added time at QPR a week ago to beat another of their bitter foes.

This time it was they who came from behind with substitute Sawyers changing the game.

Sawyers scored one in the second half and set up Ollie Watkins to confirm the win five minutes from the end.

He said: “There’s obviously a lot of talk about the west London sides with us playing QPR and Fulham so close together.

“This competition we’ve got going on gives it that bit more of an edge, for the fans it’s huge.

“It was so important to win this and get over letting in two goals in time added on at QPR. It was a great reaction.”

Fulham surged ahead when Ryan Fredericks was slipped through by Tom Cairney, and Neeskens Kebano stroked home the right-back’s cross.

Brentford responded when a shot by Sergi Canos (above), which looked covered by David Button, went in under his body.

Sawyers, who replaced injured Lasse Vibe early on, fired in after a cross hit the post and fell for him perfectly, before his inchperfect ball gave Watkins a chance he could not miss.

In between, Fulham were reduced to 10 men when Denis Odoi picked up a second yellow for clattering Watkins. It was the first red card shown in any match involving Brentford this season.

Fulham midfielder Cairney said: “It was our best performance away from home this season in the first half, and all that was missing was taking our chances.”
