Anderlecht boss fears a mauling
HEIN VANHAEZEBROUCK last night admitted his Anderlecht side will need to go through hell to survive at Celtic Park.
The Belgian champs need to hammer the Hoops by at least three goals tonight to pinch third spot in Champions League Group B.
But Vanhaezebrouck won’t sent his men out all guns blazing – because he expects a “devastating” early onslaught to come from Celts.
The former Gent gaffer refused to sugar coat the scenario for his side and admitted he is not holding up much hope.
The outspoken manager even nabbing a draw in Glasgow would be classed as success for his side.
Vanhaezebrouck said: “I can already predict what’s going to happen.
“There will be noise as soon as we come on the pitch. The crowd will be behind them – and they will fly like hell.
“The start will be devastating. If we can survive and stay level, then maybe we stand a chance to do something.
“I have a big heart. So I hope. But I am a realist. So I know it’s going to be very, very difficult.
“We can dream but also remain realistic.
“We have to try to get something. That would already be us doing really, really well to get something at Celtic.
“But to overcome the three-goal difference to continue, everything has to be perfect – and we also need all the luck in the world.
“So the chances are really, really small. But it’s not our main goal.
“I can’t go and tell the team we need to win by three goals. We have to be realistic. Aim for a win, a draw even would be a good result.
“It’s not very easy for us having lost at home 3-0.”
