Public turn to presenter Nuala for Lotto tips

NUALA Carey has told how people are always rubbing off her and asking her to kiss their lottery tickets.

The Lotto presenter said members of the public see her as a good luck charm.

She added people always approach her on the street looking for the winning numbers.

Despite the Irish obsession with the conditions outside, the RTE weather presenter said people are more interested in making it rain cash than finding out the forecast.

Nuala told the Irish Mirror: “People are more into winning the Lotto – even two women just came up to me and said, Presenting draw are the Lotto ‘Oh what numbers?’

“They rub off me, or people have tickets and they ask me to touch it or kiss it.

“I don’t mind. I understand it though, if I saw someone who presents the lottery I might think ‘That’s a sign, maybe I should go and buy a ticket’.

“I’m not allowed to play – it’s a shame. That’s why I always say to people, ‘It could be you’ – because it can’t be me.” Earlier this year, Nuala said that she’s “very happy” with her lovelife at the moment, although the broadcaster has remained tightlipped on the subject since.

When asked if she will be kissing anyone under the mistletoe this year, the Dubliner responded: “Santa is the only man I’m worried about at the moment. Once I get on his nice list I don’t care.”

Nuala revealed she will be spending Christmas Day at home with her parents, but not before a very special forecast.

Speaking at a recent carol service in aid of elderly charity ALONE, she said: “I finish up on Christmas Eve – my last forecast will be 5.55pm so we’ll have a big mention of Santa if the kids want to tune in.”
