STRICTLY’S Brendan Cole has revealed the Duchess of Cornwall was a dancing star as they filmed part of the BBC One Christmas Special at Buckingham Palace.

After taking the royal hand to perform the cha-cha-cha, Cole said: “She knows her way CANDICE Brown reckons she may struggle to cook up a showstopper performance in Dancing on Ice.

The 32-year-old, who won Bake Off last year, is joining celebs including singer Cheryl Baker and Love Island winner Kem Cetinay on the ITV show.

But she said: “You know how in Disney films you see a hippo and they put a tutu on, and you’ve got all the swans and they are graceful and then the hippo goes, ‘Boom, boom, boom’? When I put the leotard on I was like, ‘Oh right, OK, there she is, hippo in a tutu”.

“It’s so different from anything I have done, the thinking about face, arms body, and then the actual skating part.”

Candice said fiance Liam Macaulay, 31, is not the jealous type so he will not be fazed by her routines with dancing partner Matt Evers.

She said: “He tells me every day he is proud of me and he’s around a dance floor.” He added: “She was absolutely delightful, I didn’t know if I was breaking protocol but I did ask her if it was OK to ask her to dance, and she said ‘I’d love to’.

“I thought somebody was about to grab me by the scruff of the neck and kick me out.” so supportive. He’s met Matt and he’s great.”

Training is tough though and she has already had a trip to the physio. Candice said: “I had sore ribs from repeated lifting. I sneezed at home and thought I was going to pass out, and I was like, ‘Something is not right’. I’ve been using Deep Heat, I smell like a Sunday League football changing room.”

Asked if she ever envisaged doing the reality show after winning Bake Off, she said: “Goodness me, no. It has been a bit of a crazy year.”

Dancing on Ice returns in January after four years off-air.

ON ACHES AND PAINS FROM HER TRAINING

Camilla was hosting a tea dance in her role as president of the National Osteoporosis Society when part of the festive offering, which includes former contestants Judy Murray and Robbie Savage, was staged at the Palace in November.
