BEN MEE leads Burnley into Christmas insisting they can go the distance.
The Clarets, currently sixth, have been the surprise package this season and can move four points ahead of Tottenham with victory over them today.
Skipper Mee knows few believe Burnley will remain where they are and clinch a place in Europe, but claimed Sean Dyche’s men can carry on defying the odds.
“I don’t see why it’s not realistic,” said Mee. “People on the outside will be doubting us and predicting our downfall. But we’re confident we can be a good side and continue doing what we’re doing.
“We’ve got players coming in doing jobs, we’ve changed virtually the whole back four, the keeper, and lost people in midfield to injury.
“But there’s no reason we can’t carry on our form and pick up points where people think we can’t.
“People will make predictions – ‘Burnley can stay there, Burnley can’t stay there’ – but it doesn’t matter what people say, it’s what goes on out on the pitch.”
