SKIPPER Conor Coady has told his Wolves players to forget records and focus on playing in the top flight next season.

A 1-0 win over Ipswich put the Championship leaders on 54 points at the halfway stage of the campaign.

That leaves them on course to overhaul the Championship record of 106, set by Reading in 2006. But midfielder Coady, 24, says Wolves can take nothing for granted and will continue taking it a match at a time.

He said: “That’s a massive record and no one at the club is thinking about it at the minute. We had a conversation with the manager (Nuno Espirito Santo) in the week and he said it’s not about points.

“It’s not about thinking where we can get to, it’s about winning football matches and that will take us to where we want to go.

“No one in the dressing room is talking about points and where we can get to, how many games we have to win. It’s about winning every single game possible.

“The boys have done really well, the way we have come together has been fantastic, but everyone who has come in, including the manager, has pushed this club forward.

“It was something it really needed. They’ve helped the boys who were here before and, at the moment, it is going quite well – but we need to continue. We need to keep on getting better, keep on improving, keep listening to the manager. Millwall is a tough place to go. We know a few boys there and they like to get under our skin.

“But we are going there full of confidence. We are going there to play our way and play the way we’ve been doing all season.”

Lions boss Neil Harris is considering making changes for Wolves’ visit following a reality check at Derby.

Millwall were beaten 3-0 by the Rams, although they have won their past two home games, against Middlesbrough and Sheffield United.

Shaun Williams is pushing for a first start since September, with the likes of Conor Mclaughlin and Fred Onyedinma in contention.

Top-scorer George Saville and Jed Wallace will be out to impress against their former club.

We need to keep on improving and keep listening to the boss. It’s all about winning
