Star O’callaghan MIRIAM O’callaghan is the favourite to be the next Irish President, it has emerged.

The broadcaster has been backed down to 8/1 with bookies to succeed Michael D Higgins.

The news comes after it was revealed the 57-yearold featured in a list of potential candidates with Fianna Fail councillors.

Bertie Ahern is also on the list and is now as short at 9/1 having been 20/1 only a month ago.

Boylesports’ Lawrence Lyons said: “Rumours have it that Miriam O’callaghan is a popular choice for Irish President with Fianna Fail members.

“She certainly is with punters who have backed her into 8/1 favourite after support snowballed over Christmas.” TOP Irish blogger Suzanne Jackson’s dog Bella has died while her boxer Marley is missing.

The stylish So Sue Me writer yesterday issued a plea to get her two beloved pets back but later revealed one was dead.

Her sister Katie took to Instagram to update her fans on the search for the missing pair: “Hi guys, this is Katie, Suzanne’s sister here. Just to let everyone know unfortunately Bella has passed away.

“Suzanne is absolutely inconsolable. “Marley is still missing if anyone sees her please let us know. We are flying home today. Thank you. R.I.P Bella”
