NUCLEAR BUTTON SITS ON MY DESK
Kim Jong-un’s chilling New Year warning to the US
KIM Jong-un sparked fresh fears of World War III by boasting that he has a nuclear button on his desk.
In a televised New Year message, he said North Korea had “completed” their nuclear arsenal.
And in a chilling warning to Donald Trump, he added: “The US should know that the button for nuclear weapons is on my table.
“The entire area of the US mainland is within our nuclear strike range. The United States can never start a war against me and our country.”
When asked by reporters about the threat, Trump responded: “We’ll see,we’ll see.” Kim has repeatedly infuriated world leaders by carrying out nuclear and missile tests.
North Korea faced sanctions last year because of their nuclear weapons programme and testing of conventional missiles.
Kim claims North Korea has a fully deployable nuclear weapon.
In his speech yesterday, Kim pledged to “massproduce nuclear warheads and ballistic missiles and speed up their deployment”.
The UN has introduced measures to cut limits on Pyongyang’s oil imports and clamp down on its shipping. North Korean citizens working abroad will also be forced to return home within the next two years.
Kim surprisingly offered an olive branch to South Korea. He said: “The year 2018 is significant for the North and the South, with the North marking the 70th anniversary of its birth and the South hosting the Winter Olympics.
“We should melt the frozen North-south relations.”
