BEES PLAN TO TRAP WOLVES IN THE WOODS

-

RYAN WOODS insists in-form Brentford have nothing to fear venturing into the Wolves’ lair at Molineux tonight.

Runaway Championship leaders Wolves already look nailed-on for an automatic promotion spot.

And another victory will take them 12 points clear of secondplaced Derby.

But Dean Smith’s Bees are on a blistering run themselves following a shaky start to the campaign – racking up an impressive 33 points from their last 17 games.

All-action midfielder Woods, 24, has been at the heart of that resurgence – with the west London club harbouring promotion hopes of their own via the play-offs.

Woods (above) said: “Of course it is a tough match in prospect, Wolves have been playing brilliantly and no one can argue with where they are in the table.

“But we are going there full of confidence after winning three big games in a row over Christmas – Norwich, Villa and Sheffield Wednesday.

“We think we are playing as well as anyone in the division – so why can’t we go to Wolves, give them a very good game, and come back with three points?

“They have spent an absolute fortune for this league, so they should be a good team – and they are. But we will be looking for nothing less than three points.

“The way we are playing is getting us results, long may it continue, and hopefully that can carry on against Wolves and get us another big scalp.

“We couldn’t be going there in better form, or spirits, for such a big test. The results have now come too, but the form has been there really all season.”

Brentford’s Ireland international midfielder Alan Judge is still waiting to make his comeback after 20 months of injury hell.

Judge, 29, suffered a double leg break in April 2016 and was an unused sub on the bench in the Bees’ last two games.
