IT’S ALL GO FOR FLO

-

Remember this face, as you’ll be seeing a lot of Florence Pugh this year.

The Oxford-born actress, 22, has been nominated for the EE Rising Star award at this year’s BAFTAS after starring in British drama Lady Macbeth.

In the coming year, she will be appearing in King Lear alongside Emma Thompson and Anthony Hopkins, as well as The Commuter alongside

Liam Neeson.

She also appears with The

Rock in Fighting With My Family, and will star in a new series called The Little Drummer Girl, produced by the team behind The Night Manager, so it will be a busy 12 months.

Florence tells 3am: “It’s daunting – I’ve not seen any of them because they’re all coming out next year.” And she adds with a chuckle: “We talk about me rising, but it could be a very quick downfall.”

The other nominees for the award are Call Me By Your Name’s Timothee Chalamet, Get Out’s Daniel Kaluuya, God’s Own Country’s Josh

O’connor and Thor: Ragnarok’s Tessa

Thompson. The winner will be announced at the EE BAFTA ceremony at the Royal Albert Hall on February 18.

Stephen Fry has stepped down as host of the event after presenting the awards for 12 years.

Graham Norton is a frontrunner to replace him.
