CHE TOLD HE HAS COTT TO BE PATIENT

-

BIRMINGHAM boss Steve Cotterill has warned it may be up to a month before key forward Che Adams is ready for a start.

Adams has been on the substitutes’ bench for the last couple of games following a hamstring injury.

But Cotterill said: “It will be a few weeks yet I’d imagine. His fitness levels are down, and we have to be careful with him.

“He’s going to have to train hard – and no hiccups. He’s probably only been back in training now for three or four days.

“It will be a bit of a tougher week for Che next week. We don’t need any setbacks.

“He’s a couple of problems with it so we’ve just got to make sure we look after him and that he doesn’t have this problem again.”

Both these struggling Championship clubs put out strong sides and Burton were unlucky to go down to Sam Gallagher’s second-half goal (above).

His cool finish following a great run and pull-back from the excellent Jacques Maghoma was his fourth goal in his last five games.

Brewers defender Ben Turner said: “We’re disappointed we haven’t gone through. We played well, we’ve not dropped off in our performance for a number of weeks.

“We created more chances than them. Everyone is in one piece and we have the same mission in the league to be getting on with now.”
