Party youths took pics of dying pal, 16

- BY TOM TRACEY

Jake had vodka THE family of a 16-yearold boy who died after drinking a bottle of vodka said his friends have “blood on their hands”.

Jake Wheatcroft collapsed at a house party after drinking a 700ml bottle of the 40% spirit, an inquest was told.

Instead of calling 999, his pals took photos and drew obscene pictures on his face, the court heard.

Medics were not called until 11am on New Year’s Day last year when one boy went to get Jake’s father, who lived next door in Pinxton, Derbys.

Jake’s aunt Maxine Benford said: “They could have saved him. His friends have blood on their hands.”

In a narrative verdict, the Derby coroner said it was “bizarre” that no one there called an ambulance. GET ready for two more brilliant FREE Can slim, Will slim magazines as we continue our fabulous Slimming World series.
