JOE SCHMIDT will give his answer to the clamour for Jordan Larmour to feature in the Six Nations when he names his provisional championship squad today,

The Ireland boss has only worked up close once before with the 20-year-old, when he was brought in to help out on the training pitch as a Leinster Academy player for the

November 2016 series.

But the Kiwi will have been impressed by Larmour’s recent form in the blue jersey and he has a chance for inclusion. “I think he’s not far off,” said Leinster colleague Robbie Henshaw.

“I think his performances have been incredible, so yeah, I’ll be looking for his name.”

Ireland supporters are also waiting to see if Simon Zebo is included, having been omitted for the November series after it was announced he is moving to France next summer.

Zebo has already admitted he will be disappointed if he’s not selected while it is already expected that, despite his brilliant display for Racing against Munster last Sunday, Donnacha Ryan won’t be recalled. Leinster hooker Sean Cronin will be hoping he’s back in favour, especially with provincial team-mate James Tracy out injured, while Sean O’brien is not due back from a hip operation until at least the midpoint in the championship. WARREN GATLAND has welcomed English rugby’s top try scorer into his Wales squad.

Gatland swooped for Josh Adams after the young Worcester wing, who leads the Premiership charts with nine tries, scored his eighth in seven games last weekend.

The Swansea-born wing is one of two uncapped players in the 39-man squad, with Jonathan Davies’ younger brother, James, also receiving a call-up.
