YOU might think a drama that begins with death overboard on a cruise ship might have peaked too soon, but if anything this is picking up pace.

We started to question ourselves during last week’s episode. The “other woman” Carole (Paula Wilcox) actually had a story that sounded plausible.

Could we be mistaken? Could Linda (Phyllis Logan) actually have shoved her cheating husband Micky off the ship balcony?

In this episode, Linda wakes up in a cell, after being arrested on suspicion of murder. She’s terrified as she’s quizzed by the police.

“Do you like going on cruises,” growls bad cop No.1.

They are playing bad cop, bad cop. We are busy wondering what conditioner Phyllis uses, her hair is so fabulous.

Meanwhile, her lawyer is pretty inept – it’s whingeing Andrew, Sue’s son. Andrew hid his entire family from his mum (Miranda Richardson) essentially because she was on holiday in Cornwall when he fancied a chat.

Elsewhere Gail (Zoe Wanamaker) is taken aback to find her grandson’s drug addict mother on her doorstep, demanding to take the little one out for the day.

If you think it doesn’t bode well, you’d be right.

But the main order of the day is for Gail and Sue to play Sherlock and Watson as they skip around town trying to get to the truth behind the whole boat death incident.

It’s all a little far-fetched, and gets a bit weird and creepy towards the end, but it will leave you curious enough to watch next week.
