Jason cold shoulder for Torvill and Dean

-

DANCING on Ice judge Jason Gardiner is angry that Jayne Torvill and Christopher Dean have been given head judge status and a casting vote.

ITV insiders say he has been telling people he should be their equal, having been a judge for longer.

And he disagreed with the controversial decision to send Stephanie Waring home using the casting vote.

A source says: “Jason was disappointed with the decision and that was down to Torvill and Dean, and Jayne having the casting vote.

“The week before, Chris made the final decision and Jason doesn’t always agree with them, so naturally he is annoyed. With his experience as a judge on the show he feels he is more than worth his place and his comments are often the most memorable.”

The controversy over the casting has been brewing for weeks and we would not be surprised if Jason says something on-screen if

Torvill and Dean continue to disagree on big decisions.

Asked about the controversy, fourth judge Ashley Banjo tells us: “If someone said as a panel, ‘There’s four of you, a split vote is inevitable. Who should be head judge?’ I know Jason disagrees with me but I would say Jayne or Chris. They come as a partnership. Jason thinks it should be split between us all.”

In happier news, we can confirm Dancing on Ice will be back in 2019. After a peak audience of 8.3 million for episode one, head of entertainment Siobhan Greene jumped at another series.

She says: “The show’s welcome back has exceeded expectations and it’s been fantastic to see the audience loving it.”

But will all four judges be back and still speaking to each other? Jason Gardiner
