Tonight the crew down at District 8 present Germany’s Claptone. While he played out as a mythical character shrouded in mystery, Claptone has become one of the biggest names in electronic music whilst himself remaining in the shadows.

As one of the businest touring DJS and most prolific producers around, as well as bringing together a diverse group of collaborators such as Boc Party’s Kele Okereke, Blaenavon, Tender, Jones, Zola Blood, Austra’s Katie Stelmanis, The Boxer Rebellion’s Nathan Nicholson, Clap Your Hands Say Yeah and Matt Simons.

Claptone’s debut artist album Charmer has scored over 60million streams and counting, and when it comes to djing 2018 will see another intense year of touring with Claptone presenting his immersive Masquerade event experience at bigger venues and festivals having built momentum over the last 18 months. Doors are 11pm and admission is €20.

Our friends at PYG bring you recently announced 2018 resident New Jackson.

The man should need no introduction and there are precious few artists that can lay claim to having put out records on labels as divergent as Rough Trade and John Talabot’s Hivern Discs. Perhaps this is because artists such as New Jackson express genuine diversity in their musical tastes and creative explorations.

Since the turn of the decade New Jackson he has mined a seam of driving, ghostly house to run parallel with his solo strand of ambient folk electronica. His debut From Night To Night was released on All City in May last year and was recorded in David Kitt’s bedroom studio overlooking Dublin bay – its nocturnal hues very much a product of the nightshift often working on headphones with the rest of his housemates fast asleep.

It takes full advantage of the scope of the LP format, ebbing and flowing between deep house club ready gems and more restrained and meditative beatless moments for the morning after. Colin Perkins joins him before heading off to Basel tomorrow night. Admission is €5 and doors at 10pm.

Hot House at Berlin Bar in Dame Street Dublin, present Prymary Colours. The Irish electronic duo consists of Cayisha on vocals & Daz on production bringing a fusion of electronic beats and soulful vocals, combining elements of the club scene with the the ingredients of catchy popular tunes. Their accessible music is a seductive blend of harmonies, with an engaging collection of rhythms. Think monotone textures, with warm vibrant melodies. It’s free all night.
