Fans are backing rap star’s attacks on ‘racist’ Trump

EMINEM’S attacks on Donald Trump will boost the rapper’s popularity, say music bosses.

The star, who has called Trump a “racist grandpa”, has split his US fans but is galvanising support over here.

Music chiefs expect two summer stadium shows, to be announced today, to be the fastest selling of the year.

One insider said the 82,000-seater gigs at Twickenham, West London, on July 14 and 15, would already have been one of the hottest tickets in town.

But the source said the Lose Yourself rapper’s anti-trump rhetoric would “doubtless galvanise” fans on this side of the Atlantic “equally disillusioned with Trump”. The source said: “Eminem has a massive fan base in the UK and his comments of late have only served to grow it.”

The star, 45, has recently branded Trump, 71, disgusting and divisive, and capable of causing a nuclear holocaust. He said his fans must either choose to back him or Trump and last week added: “At the end of the day, if I did lose half my fan base then so be it, because I feel like I stood up for what was right.

“I don’t see how somebody could be middle class, busting their a** every single day, paycheck to paycheck, who thinks that billionaire is gonna help you.”

Eminem last toured the UK in 2014 and played Reading and Leeds festivals last year. ■ Tickets for Eminem’s Revival Tour go on sale at 9am on Friday. For info, go to Metropolismusic.com
