Fans will be end of Pierre
BORUSSIA DORTMUND players have warned supporters they are driving Pierre-emerick Aubameyang into the arms of Arsenal.
The Gunners will make a third bid for the striker, with Dortmund demanding £60million.
But the Bundesliga club’s fans appear to have turned on their Gabon star by unveiling a banner reading “No player is bigger than our club” during
Saturday’s 2-2 home draw with Frieburg.
But Dortmund keeper Roman Burki hit back at the protest, insisting it was making Aubameyang’s position untenable.
He said: “People are coming to boo their own team. You hear no support. They have no idea about football and probably nothing better to do.”
The Gunners remain confident of landing their target but with Wednesday’s transfer deadline looming, fear it will go down to the wire.
Dortmund have rejected two bids from the North London club which fell short of their valuation.
But Arsenal are still likely to thrash out an agreement for the 28-year-old, who is desperate to move to the Emirates.
Negotiations are continuing, however the uncertainty leaves Olivier Giroud in limbo, with the Gunners reluctant to let him leave until Aubameyang is in the bag.
Borussia Dortmund were keen on Giroud but the France striker has doubts about a move to Germany.
Arsenal are still keeping an eye on West Brom’s Jonny Evans, but do not want to pay anything like the £20m asking price.
