WOLVES SO MAD ABOUT JAMES
WOLVES, almost certainly heading for the Premier League, are lining up a summer move for Norwich midfielder James Maddison, who has also attracted interest from Arsenal and Tottenham.
The 21-year-old joined Norwich from Coventry City two years ago.
Ramsey, 27, is in superb form this season but is into the final 18 months of his current contract and his next will be the most important of his career.
Arsenal have effectively moved the goalposts on pay with their £350,000-a-week three-year agreement for Ozil (below) with Arsene Wenger admitting other players will want to follow suit.
The Gunners broke the bank to keep Ozil with a huge offer to ward off interest from Manchester United and Barcelona and in light of Alexis Sanchez’s departure.
They have also signed Pierreemerick Aubameyang and Henrikh Mkhitaryan on big money and their current top players are likely to want parity.
Boss Wenger has made it clear the club want to keep Ramsey, but if he did want to leave then this would be his most obvious chance.
The Wales international has scored six goals this season and is one of Arsenal’s most important players. He has attracted interest from
Spain in the past.
Arsenal are braced for a string of difficult negotiations, with talks also under way with Jack Wilshere, who is out of contract at the end of the season.
Wilshere, 26, has signalled his desire to remain at the Emirates, but to do that he looks like having to accept a pay cut.
He is currently on £110,000 a week, with the Gunners looking to reduce that to £90,000 in a new deal based heavily on incentives, success and appearances because of his injury record.
Wilshere’s situation will alert several clubs, while Ozil’s mega salary is likely to add
