I’M GREAL DEAL AGAIN

- BY JAMES NURSEY

JACK GREALISH is targeting promotion after his man-of-thematch display put Villa into the automatic slots.

Villa are up to second in the Championship for the first time this term after winning the Second City derby for their seventh straight league win.

Grealish teed up Albert Adomah (both left) to open the scoring after an hour from the top of the box. Then Conor Hourihane sealed victory late on with a fine left-foot shot from outside the area.

England Under-21 attacking midfielder Grealish was later subbed to a standing ovation as he continues to hit new heights after missing the first three months of the season due to a freak kidney injury.

Boyhood Villa fan and ex-trainee Grealish said: “It means the world but the main thing was to get the points which lifts us up to second.

“I was out for a long time but worked hard to get back fit.

“I am lasting longer in games now and hopefully we can get promoted.”

Adomah’s goal was his

14th effort of an impressive season on the flank and reflected a dominant second period for Villa as Brum finished with 10 men as Cheikh N’doye was red-carded.

Adomah added: “Since Jack has been back he has been immense. We are in an automatic spot and hopefully we can stay there.”
