ADAM STILL SO HOT FOR TROTTERS

Targett 4 ADAM LE FONDRE fired a stunning reminder to Bolton boss Phil Parkinson that he is not a spent force in front of goal.

On the verge of quitting the Championship strugglers last month, the striker, 31, produced a brilliant second-half equaliser to put a dent in Fulham’s automatic promotion chase.

After starting just twice since August, Le Fondre (above) had been willing to drop down to League One to find first-team football, with the Trotters’ neighbours Oldham and Rochdale looking to take him on loan.

But the well-travelled frontman, who still boasts one of the Premier League’s best goal ratios, believes he can still play a big part in Bolton’s survival effort.

“That’s what I can do – give me chances and I will score goals,” said the former Reading star, who cancelled out Matt Targett’s header for the Cottagers.

“I was looking to leave last month. The gaffer spoke to my agent and agreed I could go if they got the right offer and could get some cover in.

“I wanted to play. It’s the reason I came to Bolton. I wasted time at Wigan in a similar position and I can’t afford to do that now.

“The move didn’t happen, but that’s football. I have been given another chance now and hopefully I can make it count.”

Fulham had won their previous five games, and Slavisa Jokanovic admitted his team did not look as clinical as they have been.

“We created chances but did not take them,” said the manager.

“Bolton took risks, but we did not exploit the space they gave to us. We tried to score a second, but this time it did not happen.”
