Jumbo surprise at zoo

-

VISITORS to Dublin Zoo enjoyed a mammoth treat yesterday when its newest addition was unveiled.

Asian elephant Anaka was born on Saturday to proud mum Anak and weighed in at 90kg.

The zoo’s Gerry Creighton said:

“We are delighted to welcome our new arrival and happy to report the calf is healthy, strong and was standing within minutes of his birth.”

And Dublin wasn’t the only zoo welcoming new additions, with a cheeky primate getting in on the act

in Belfast. Francois langur monkey Huaidan was born late last year but took a Valentine’s Day bow.

His name means rascal in Chinese and the zoo hopes he will prove a big draw to those hoping for some monkey business in 2018.

TWO adorable new babies were born in Dublin and Belfast zoos recently.

The cute little langur monkey and baby elephant are the main attraction for visitors to the popular facilities.

Zoo have to see them to believe it.
