Fallen Lights

-

Dublin indie four-piece Fallen Lights are back with a new single which hits shelves today.

Together since early 2014, the band is made up of Graham Dowling, Andrew Cody, Jay Wiley and Joey Murray, who are all music graduates.

Their sound boasts rich harmonies and catchy melodies with an underlying pop theme.

We caught up with singer Graham ahead of the release of their new single It’s Too Late.

The Beat: What’s New?

Graham: It’s been a great start to the year for us, we have just released our latest single which is available for download now. Go check it out, or request us on radio.

We have also released an awesome video for the single that is debuting on our Facebook page. We have also just been named brand ambassadors for Guy Clothing which we are pretty excited about!

The Beat: When is the next gig?

Graham: We are currently doing a press tour for the new single, visiting radio and TV stations all around the country. However, we do have tour dates coming very soon, so you can keep up to date on all of our social media platforms.

The Beat: What has been your best gig so far?

Graham: Last summer we sold out two headline shows in Whelan’s which was a huge accomplishment for us at the time, it would be very hard to choose between them so we are gonna say them both. We absolutely love playing live, and can’t wait to hit circuit again with our new release.

The Beat: Tell us about It’s Too Late.

Graham: It’s recorded with top Irish producer Phil Magee, the song is about the one that got away. I think we can all relate to that.

Musically it is a heartfelt pop/ rock belter with a chorus you can’t help to sing along too. Well we think so anyway.

The Beat: Describe your music in one sentence.

Graham: Big and bold contemporary rock with four part harmony and a sprinkle of pop.

The Beat: What are you listening to at the moment?

Graham: We have a hugely diverse taste in music across the band. We are always fighting over the Spotify selection when travelling to gigs. At the moment we have been revisiting the classic albums of our youth. Parachutes, Morning Glory, Dookie and The Bends are getting worn out, to name a few.

The Beat: What has been your favorite moment as a musician?

Graham: There isn’t a moment that we don’t enjoy. However I think our favorite has always been when writing or performing a new song there is always a moment when the whole band realise what we are playing is really special. To share that moment with another musician and an audience is a really amazing feeling and it’s definitely what drives us on.

The Beat: What is in store for the rest of 2018?

Graham: When we finish the press tour we will be hitting the road all through the summer, looking forward to some festival dates also. We do plan to do another release before the year is out with a lot of live shows in Ireland and Europe so keep an eye out.
