Star’s home under threat
IRISH actress Victoria Smurfit has told of her terror after being evacuated from her home in America due to a bomb threat.
She had to leave the property in Los Angeles while experts detonated a suspect device nearby.
The 43-year-old was attending a pre-oscars event run by the Irish Film Board and Ireland Funds America with a host of our other stars including Colin Farrell and Chris O’dowd.
Victoria revealed her ordeal on her Twitter account when she arrived back in Santa Monica after the event.
The Dublin actress tweeted: “Came home to being evacuated due to a bomb outside my house so currently homeless. Nothing to see here. Much.”
Concerned fans were quick to ask the Once Upon A Time star if she was alright.
Victoria said she was relieved her daughters Evie, 13, and
Ridley, 10, and nine-year-old son Flynn were staying with their dad Doug Baxter at the time.
Local reports said police were alerted to the device after an attempted robbery of a jewellery shop.
This isn’t the first time
Victoria has been faced with a life-threatening situation.
Speaking on the red carpet at the IFTAS recently, the Ballykissangel actress revealed the terrifying moment she was shot at while on holiday in South Africa.
Victoria said a bullet was fired at the car she was travelling in through Cape Town, in what she believes was part of a gang initiation.
She added: “I was quite scared by it and I ended up writing a piece on it. I got a lot of South African hate, it was quite shocking. It was very aggressive.
“It was people living there saying, ‘How dare you say there was violence in Cape Town?’ There’s violence everywhere. I don’t think I’ll be going back in a hurry.”
