Model Beirne leaves show after dance-off with erin
ALANNAH Beirne fought back tears last night as she became the sixth celebrity to leave Dancing With The Stars.
The 24-year-old model was sent packing after going head-to-head with Erin Mcgregor.
Judges Julian Benson, Brian Redmond and Loraine Barry praised the Kildare girl who joined the line-up at the 11th hour taking the place of former Miss Ireland Aoife Walsh who suffered a toe injury. But ultimately they saved Erin. Alannah and partner Vitali Kozmin, who performed a sultry samba to Lush Life by Zara Larson admitted the show had been “a roller coaster of emotions” but an “amazing experience”.
Earlier fitness model Erin, 36, and dancer partner Ryan Mcshane moved judge Julian to tears with a waltz that reminded him of his mother. The pair channelled their inner Romeo and Juliet as they performed a romantic routine to Kissing You by Des’ree.
Loraine said: “Erin and Ryan I have been waiting for this. Everything was elegance, grace and beauty. It is like taking something ordinary and made it extraordinary.” They notched up an almost perfect 29 points.
Week nine kicked off with singer Jake Carter and partner Karen Byrne performing a jive to Rock Around The Clock (Swing Cats Remix) by Bill Haley and the Comets.
Brian said: “I loved the jive content, It was excellent. Boy, you can dance.”
Loraine added: “For me this is a fabulous tribute to Bill Hayley and the moves of Elvis Presley.”
And Julian said it was a “Jaketastic jumping jive, full of power and energy”. The pair earned themselves 27 points.
Next up Olympian Rob Heffernan, 40, and Emily Barker performed a contemporary ballroom routine to Hymn For The Weekend by Coldplay.
