Luke who has changed in Star Wars art
Early film promo THE first Star Wars poster – which looks different to the iconic one eventually used to promote the film – is being put for sale.
The 35in by 28in artwork was created a year before the movie’s release in 1977.
The layout is similar, but the figures look nothing like the stars of the film, though Luke Skywalker and Darth Vader feature.
It was created by comic artist Howard Chaykin.
Martin Nolan, of US auctioneers Julien’s which is selling the poster for an estimated €1,700, said: “The concept design dates to 1976, before anyone knew how phenomenal Star Wars was to become.
“The poster design was majorly tweaked later on to become one of the most recognisable movie posters of all time.”
