Gers jump for joy with draw
GRAEME MURTY revealed his
Rangers players jumped for joy after they were put on an Old Firm Scottish Cup semi-final collision course for the third year in a row.
And the Light Blues boss (above) insists that’s a sign of the confidence running through his side as they prepare for a mouthwatering triple header with Celtic in the final part of the season.
Murty watched his side book a lastfour place as Jason Cummings inspired Gers with a hat-trick in their 4-1 win over Falkirk.
That made it six wins on the spin for Rangers in all competitions as they prepare for Sunday’s huge test when champions Celtic travel across the city.
And the Glasgow giants will meet again in their Scottish Cup semi-final at Hampden on the weekend of April 14/15 with the prospect of the final league derby of the season taking place seven days later in the first post-split fixture.
The Gers boss said: “The sound that came out of the changing-room when we were drawn against Celtic was vast. The boys loved it.
“That shows the mood they’re in, the positivity that’s going through the changing-room and the upturn in our mindset that we’re relishing the challenge of pushing on.
“This will be a really good indication next weekend of where we are and how much more we need to do.”
