THE LOW

not called him up. The second goal arrived after 26 minutes and another Arsenal blunder.

This time a clumsy pass by Laurent Koscielny conceded possession before a precise cross from Gross found Glenn Murray.

Brighton’s veteran striker rose high, Shkodran Mustafi was left stranded and Murray headed down and under Cech’s dive.

Arsenal gave themselves a lifeline after 43 minutes when Aubameyang woke up from his malaise. Sead Kolasinac’s cross was not properly cleared, Alex Iwobi kept the ball alive and Xhaka fed the ball through for Aubameyang to flick home.

Aubameyang, Arsenal’s record £56million signing in January, must be wondering what on earth he has done. But that could also go for Ozil, who has gone missing since signing his new £350,000-aweek contract.

In first-half injury time, Arsenal nearly levelled when Mkhitaryan’s cross found Koscielny and his header deflected off Duffy to smack the base of a post.

The second half was largely Arsenal but Aubameyang and Ozil were both denied by Brighton keeper Mat Ryan and not even seven minutes of added time, after Ezequiel Schelotto was knocked out in a clash with Kolasinac, could save Wenger.

Arsenal have run out of ideas, energy and life under Wenger. They are delaying the inevitable by waiting until May as this campaign is lurching from one disaster to another.
