BALANCE OF POWER

-

BLACKBURN 2 Armstrong 6, Bennett 17 WIGAN 2 Jacobs 63, Power 73

WIGAN produced a second-half fightback to prevent Blackburn going nine points clear of them at the top of League One.

The Latics were stunned as goals from Adam Armstrong and Elliott Bennett (below) had Rovers 2-0 up after just 17 minutes. But second-half goals from Michael Jacobs and Max Power helped

Paul Cook’s side battle back. They remain third, six points behind Rovers, but have four games in hand on their rivals.

Cook said: “Our lads fully deserved a point. It was a great advert for the league. A draw was a result neither of us wanted but doesn’t harm either of us.”

Blackburn boss Tony Mowbray said: “We’re frustrated today... it feels like a defeat.”
