Cancelled wedding a winter garden party

THIS couple turned their garden into a wedding venue after they were forced to cancel their nuptials

John Phelan and Bernadette Doherty were to marry on Friday but the ceremony at the Naas registry office in Co Kildare fell victim to the weather.

Neighbour Katie Hand told RSVP Live they still made it a magical day for them by turning their garden into a winter wonderland

Katie said: “We were building snowmen together on Wednesday when they told us of their sad news.

“The plan for a snow wedding didn’t even enter our minds until Friday.”

That afternoon guests arrived at Bernadette’s home to find a where they saw the couple exchange vows in the back garden.

Katie said: “We then continued inside and had a reception with speeches.

“The couple set off at 3am after the driveway was cleared and made the airport.” KISS IS IT John and Bernadette
