Mutt’s jaw is glued shut by chewed flyer

- BY JOHN JEFFAY

Ottis the dog’s teeth A DOG’S teeth became gummed together after he chewed a glossy leaflet he had found in the post.

Ottis the Jack Russell pounced when the flyer dropped through owner Donna Fisher’s letterbox.

It ripped when she tried to wrestle it from him. Then she realised her 10-year-old pet could not open his mouth.

Donna, 34, rushed him to a local vet, where it took half an hour to un-stick his teeth under sedation.

Vet Becky Milner said: “Because dogs’ teeth interlock so well the paper and glue cemented and became amazingly solid.”

Donna, of Warrington, Cheshire, said Ottis has recovered fully but has not learned his lesson, so she has had to install a dogproof letter cage.
