Roy: I’d floor The Notorious Conor: Bring it on, mate..

- BY BERNARD O’NEILL

ROY SHEAHAN reckons he’d walk a boxing match with Conor Mcgregor.

The Kildare fighter claimed the inaugural Last Man Standing middleweight title at Dublin’s National Stadium last Saturday by winning three fights on the same night.

And after picking up a cheque for €25,000, he called out the UFC superstar.

“If Conor Mcgregor wants a go, no problem,” said Sheahan. Mcgregor (right), nicknamed “The Notorious”, responded to the challenge, saying: “I accept Roy. No problem, mate. No f ****** problem.”

Sheahan improved his pro record to four wins from four after Last Man Standing. He beat three fighters – Vladimir Belujsky, JJ Mcdonagh and Jack Cullen – who had 29 victories between them in the paid ranks.

Mcgregor’s sole venture into a ring so far ended in a resounding defeat to Floyd Mayweather in Las Vegas last August.

“I’d take the fight no problem,” added Sheahan.

“I wouldn’t say (it would be) easy. He has a bit of boxing skill, he’s no eejit.

“But compared to the lads I fought the other night it would be a lot easier.”
