Jong-un: We may give up on our nukes
DESPOT Kim Jong-un met a delegation from South Korea and told them he was willing to talk to the US about giving up his nuclear weapons programme.
Speaking after the dinner, South Korea’s Chung Eui-yong said Kim had agreed to meet President Moon Jae-in at a border village next month.
Chung said: “North Korea made clear its willingness to denuclearise the Korean peninsula.”
Jong-un had said his country had no reason to retain nuclear weapons if “the military threat to North Korea is resolved”.
He has agreed to stop missile tests while talks with the US are under way.
The move was greeted cautiously by Donald Trump, who tweeted: “We will see what happens.”
