Couple thank ferry godmother

-

A FERRY company came to the rescue of a stranded wedding party when Storm Emma hit.

Stena Line didn’t want to see Aine Kilgannon and her fiance Heath Bateman’s big day ruined so it stepped in and sailed them along with 26 friends to Dublin on Saturday.

The couple were all set to tie-the-knot in Co Roscommon but it didn’t initially go to plan when severe weather hit.

The wedding party travelled from London to Holyhead only to discover their sailing with another operator was cancelled.

Aine said of her experience: “I was completely panic stricken and worried but thankfully

Stena Line was on hand to make sure I made it to my wedding.”
