-

LOCAL authorities are working with Irish Water in a bid to fully restore supply.

They are part of the National Emergency Committee who are trying to minimise the risk to customers.

Irish Water said it recognises many people still face severe restrictions and this is likely to continue for a number of days.

Hospitals will be prioritised and have water diverted to them.

Around 14,000 people are on storm related boil water Notices. Of those affected, 11,000 are in Enniscorthy, Co Wexford.

Up to 12,000 people in South Tipperary have been told not to drink tap water after thousands of litres of kerosene accidentally spilled into a local river.
