Chef Darina joy at being a food hero
Darina Allen DARINA Allen has been announced as Guaranteed Irish Food Hero.
The Ballymaloe Cookery School founder was honoured for her “significant contribution to the industry”.
She said: “I’m overjoyed. I have always been convinced of the superb quality produce that we can produce in Ireland
“And I would encourage anyone to support their local farmers and food producers.”
Darina now joins an elite list of Guaranteed Irish Heroes – including artist Maser, former women’s Rugby captain Niamh Briggs and Prof Louise Kenny – awarded the honour over the last year for their contributions to their respective sectors.
