DANNY’S FITNESS WORRIES ALLAYED

- BY PAT NOLAN

DANNY SUTCLIFFE has passed himself fit for Dublin’s crunch Allianz Hurling League tie with Laois on Sunday.

Sutcliffe added that teammate Liam Rushe, who was forced off during the defeat to All-ireland champions Galway last Sunday week with a chest injury, should also be fit for the Portlaoise clash.

Sutcliffe explained: “I’m available for selection anyway. I just had a bit of a hamstring injury early on when I missed the Offaly game so I’m just getting back after that.

“Probably the load caught me but I’d say Liam will be available for selection as well.

“He had to go off [against Galway], had trouble breathing.”

Both sides go into Sunday’s game with one win from their four games. The winner will go through to the last eight of the competition while the loser will face Antrim in a relegation play-off.

Laois’s superior scoring difference means that a draw will do for them.

“They’ll really get behind them down there as well, especially if they get a sniff or momentum, they really get loud.”
