Women’s run to raise cash for elderly

ELDERLY charity Alone has urged people to sign up for this year’s VHI Women’s Mini Marathon.

The organisation is raising funds for its services, which include supporting older people in their homes.

Entries opened on Wednesday for the race which takes place on Bank Holiday Monday, June 3.

Speaking about the event, Alone chief Sean Moynihan said: “All proceeds from this race will go directly towards services that support older people to age in the community.”
