HSE boss Tony O’brien will leave in the summer after six years in charge of what he described as a dysfunctio­nal health service.

He would probably admit when he took over he found it on life support and as he quits it’s being wheeled to the mortuary. Ministers did not like it when Tony, below, told the truth that the HSE was gutted to save banks. When it comes to a choice between healthy lenders or a functionin­g health service there’s only going to be one winner with Fine Gael.
